If any LA folks are checking in , I will have a talk and screening at the Echo Park Film Center, - tomorrow nite the 3rd of November, 7pm. That is located at 1200 Alvorado Street, 90026, Los Angeles. Jenna Beaufils , my great friend set that up. So I hope to interview a lot here, and check out the Day of the Dead , El Dia de los Muertos. In San Franscisco I had a great interview with the city on CASTRO street, during the Halloween party. Frickin Amazing! It has been such a wealth of images and people and experiences. Wheewwww. Now for LA, am I ready? Do I have a real choce? let go ...bend .....breathe....experience.....do not hold too tightly......what comes is a a reflection of ourselvess......contemplate and seek.... love Mark

good morning, the crisp mountain light hits the ohre aspen leaves. The suburbs of Denver slowly beep to life. Just spent the last two days interviwing in the suburbs and at Colorado St. in Fort Collins. Leaving this morning for Winemucca, Nevada. Decided to change travel plans to Elko, because Winnemucca has an more humane arrival time on the Amtrak . Do not know a soul in Winemuca, known for ; being in the middle of the Desert, for having alfalfa fields and as the town adjacent to Burning Man. Had a very god time with my Colorado cousins, the youg boys , Robert and Arthur, helped me edit and see the rough cuts on the WAN laptop thru the eyes of boys. Juhl Wojahn was a great help as a ad hoc crew member, runing the camera and touring me around the city. Steve Zimmermin ( cousin in law ) masterfuly feed us with smoked meat from a TRAGER, a 21st century BBQ. So, I leave in an hour to commute on the Bus with Juhl into downtown Denver. The train station there is great, I reccomend the train, it has been a great way to travel. Mark Wojahn, on location for What America Needs, Golden Colorado.

greetings from Denver Colorado, arrived this morning from Burlington Iowa. It is the first time I have seen the sunshine since Indiania. Met my cousin at the station and we proceded to eat breakfast at Pete's Kitchen, and then interview outside on the street. Got a phone call from the Ann Arbor Film Festival, they are interrested in bringing WAN to Michigan ! This would be great to have as a midwestern premeire, next March. WAN was inspired at the screening at A2 last march.... Denver is a beautiful. Shot footage at a peace rally here, an estimated 4000 people showed up to support efforts for Peace. I have been sad- since the news of Wellstone's death. I voted for him in absentee and am curious on how that vote will be interpreted. They had a moment of silence for Wellstone at the peace rally..... People hear in Denver are very to the point, very succient ( sp? ) , when asked - What does America Need. This is the West, the foothills of the rockies are surrounding me. I leave for Elko, Nevada, monday morning . If anyone has any connections in Elko please pass them on. I will be off to interview the cowboys. love and solidarity Mark Wojahn - on location for What America Needs, Denver , Co.

good morning from Door Co. Wisconsin The snow and rain have ceased and the morning looks an little more bearable. I am heading to the ship yards in Sturgeon bay. I will travel to Green Bay later today or early tomorrow and then to Chicago and Iowa. Had good interviews yesterday at the Village Cafe in Egg Harbor. I continue to feel like this project is full of grace and people seem to come out of the woodwork to tell me their thoughts and feelings. Every day this happens, this trek continues to amaze me, the country and it's belief in freedom of speech is a joy to experience. love and solidarity Mark Wojahn Junction Center (Yoga and the Living Arts) in Jacksonport, WIsconsin.

good morning from Door County , Wisconsin this journey continues to evolve, in Indiania I met Kathy from the Junction Center, yoga, zen and living arts center in Jacksonport wisconsin and she invited me to go north with her yesterday. So I have! I decided to take this opp. instead of going to Chicago as I had planned. It is a beautiful morning a light snow falls, a fire burns in the wood stove and a yoga class starts in ten minutes ( yes, I will take it!), we had a great drive from Indiania, and a great dinner at Don Qiuxote's in Milwaukee. I interviewed four at the rest. and one was an Irish Flamenco Dancer!, another a venezyualan (sp?) friend of the owner, the spanish guitar player and the Milwaukeen waitress. They were great and inspiring. So happy how the quest of WHAT AMERICA NEEDS is playing out....I will be in yoga class soon and move my stiff fingers and my back a little ... love and solidarity Mark Wojahn Door Co. Wisconsin

howdy from the Heartland. Arrived in Indiania this morning on the train. Loitered around a beautiful old station ( it was 5:32 am ) and walked into downtown Lafayette. Had breakfast at the Sunrise diner and chatted with cooks, dishwashers and the early morning Purdue football crowd. It has been a little different to interviw in the midwest. Middle America is a little more focused on morality and God. I interviewed Amish, Cacti, Cajun, and produce farmers at the Farmers market. But the thing I am hearing time and time again is that much of the country thinks we need a different leadership. A wide majority of people do not trust the Bush administration. it was a beautiful day here, finally after a few hours I found myh cousin John and his family and filmed an afternoon soccer game. Today and tomorrow I am here and monday I am onto Illinios. Thx to all I have met and will meet in the days to come. love Mark Wojahn, lafayette, Indiania.
